Walk along the seaside, enjoy beautiful organized and free beaches, shop in large shopping centers, visit unique sightseeings.
The tour starts with the chance to swim in the azure waters of the Saronic Gulf: Varkiza is a resort near the Athens International Airport, where an outstanding seascape unfolds with impressive coves below the coastal road. Next stop is a real treasure of nature, Vouliagmeni Lake sunk in the remains of a huge limestone cave fed by lukewarm springs welling from underground.
After swimming and relaxing, Glyfada sounds a good idea! Being the centre of Athens Riviera, Glyfada stands out for its shopping area with many stores, for its sandy beach, as well as for its restaurants, cafés and bars near the sea.
Refreshed and full of energy again, you could visit two interesting sightseeings: the Battleship-Museum Averof that served as the Greek war fleet’s flagship during most of the first half of the century and is the only armoured cruiser still in existence globally and Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, a complex in the bay of Phaliron, designed by architect Renzo Piano, which includes new facilities for the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera.
